Hello, I’m preparing a class for school bus driver. Entitled Transporting Students with Special Needs. I’m finding your case studies quit interesting. Only I’m finding nothing on Pupil Management, for the school bus. If you have anything on this category I would love to see it, even case studies.
Thank You,
Laura Salsky
Hello ABA. I finally found something that states the similar issues my son has. My husband and I are very stressed out how our son eats. We actually have to force feed him every time. Any time he sees a food that he doesn’t like he gags and makes faces that he is going to throw up. Where are you guys located? I am in California. Do you have any offices in California?
Hi and thank you for stopping by the blog. I’m sorry to hear that your child is having issues related to feeding.
You have probably read on here that we strongly encourage a complete medical screening. For starters, I would want to rule out any food allergies or sensitivities. I would also want to see if there have been any long-standing digestive issues such as reflux, constipation, or diarrhea. It may be necessary to have a scope to ensure that everything is functioning properly.
We don’t have an office in California but we would not be opposed to providing our services there. I would need to check into the licensing requirements to ensure that we could provide services there, legally.
There are some good programs in California though. Meeta Patel runs a program called Clinic4Kidz (http://clinic4kidz.com/). She is widely published in this area and a very skilled clinician.
Becky Penrod also does some feeding work at Sacramento State. You may also find her here: http://www.ucpsacto.org/programs-services/autism-center-for-excellence-a-c-e/
We wish you the best! please feel free to reach out to our office if you would like to have a complimentary consultation.
